Man arrested waving large knife in Dungannon - six police crews at the scene

Six police crews have responded to a man waving a large knife around in the middle of a Co Tyrone town.

Police received a call at around 9.30am of a disturbance in the Irish Street area on Thursday, December 13.

They had received reports that there was a male "in the town centre with a large knife".

Four police crews from Dungannon and two specialist armed response units were tasked to the scene.

Writing on the Facebook page for PSNI Dungannon and South Tyrone, a spokesperson said: "Well you couldn’t have missed us if you were on Irish Street...

"...within minutes, one male was arrested on Irish Street for numerous offences and a large knife seized."
