Man attacked with crowbar in west Belfast

A man has been attacked with a crowbar during an assault in west Belfast.

The assault happened outside a house in the Aspen Walk area of Dunmurry at around 4.10am on Monday.

Police said the victim, who is in his 20s, was taken to hospital for injuries to his head and arm that are not believed to be life threatening.

Detective Sergeant Fairfield said: “We would like to speak with a man described as wearing a red and white striped hooded top and dark jeans in the area at the time of the assault, who may be able to assist with our enquiries.

“Our investigation is ongoing in relation to this incident and we would appeal to anyone with information especially with CCTV at the time of the incident to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference number 208 3/6/19."
