Man bailed over Twelfth rioting

A 19-year-old man held after rioting in Portadown during loyalist protests over the Parades Commission ban on the Ardoyne Orange march on the Twelfth of July has been bailed.

Thomas Hamilton from Darling Avenue was charged with riotous behaviour after he was seen throwing a bottle at police from the front of a crowd who had hurled three petrol bombs at the PSNI lines in the Corcrain area on July 19.

The court heard there was no suggestion Hamilton had thrown petrol bombs.
