Man charged after female bus driver 'head butted' at Londonderry depot

A 32-year-old man has been charged after a female bus driver was allegedly head butted in Londonderry.

Police were called to Foyle Street Bus depot at around 8pm on Friday after reports a bus driver had been assaulted.

Security staff at the depot restrained the man until police arrived a short time later to conduct an arrest.

The driver was treated at hospital for cuts and extensive bruising to her face.

The man has been charged with offences including assault occasioning actual bodily harm and assault on police.

He is expected to appear at Londonderry Magistrates Court on August 28.
