Man charged after number of armed robberies in Belfast
A 27-year-old man has been charged with several offences by detectives investigating a number of recent armed robberies in east Belfast.
The man has been charged with two counts of robbery, two counts of attempted robbery, three counts of possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, possession of a Class C controlled drug and possession of a Class C controlled drug with intent to supply.
The charges are in relation to incidents in the Albertbridge Road area on Friday 19 April, in the Orangefield Lane area on the evening of Tuesday 23 April and in the Beersbridge Road and Westminster Avenue North areas on Friday 26 April.
He is due to appear at Belfast Magistrates' Court on Monday April 29.
As is normal procedure, the charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
