Man charged after officers were struck by car

A man has been charged with attempted grievous bodily harm with intent on two police officers during recent rioting in London, Scotland Yard has said.

Jah-Kiel McDermott (28), was arrested after the Pcs were mown down while chasing looters during disorder in the capital on August 8. He will appear at Thames Magistrates' Court, in east London, today.

The two officers, both based at Paddington Green police station, were run down at around 1am, in north-east London, as they dealt with reports of looting at clothing store Aristocrats.
