Man charged in connection with armed robbery in Belfast

A 58-year-old man has been charged in connection with an armed robbery at a shop in Belfast.

The incident happened on Saturday evening shortly before 8.10pm when two men entered the shop on the Crumlin Road and one, who was believed to be armed with a knife, ordered staff to put cigarettes and alcohol into a bag before making offf.

The man has been charged with robbery and possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence.

He will appear before Belfast Magistrates Court on Friday April 6.
