Man charged over £30m drugs ring that tried to bring steroids into Northern Ireland.
A Danish man has been charged in the UK over a £30m international steroid smuggling ring that tried to bring the drug into Northern Ireland.
Jacob Sporon-Fiedler faces a charge of conspiracy to import and export a controlled class C drug.
The 37-year-old, based in Mumbai, India, is due to appear at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court today.
His arrest was part of a four-year National Crime Agency investigation, which has included seizures totalling around £30m.
The probe was launched in 2014, after more than 630kg of anabolic steroids and prescription medicines destined for Belfast were impounded by border force officers at Heathrow Airport.
Sporon-Fiedler was charged after answering bail at Heathrow police station.
