Man charged over child pornography appears in court

By Paul Higgins

A man has appeared in court accused of downloading child pornography.

Matthew Browne (25), from Halfpenny Gate Road in Moira, is accused of possessing and making indecent images of children on June 12, 2014.

He spoke only to confirm that he understood the two charges against him.

A detective told Craigavon Magistrates' Court he believed he could connect Browne to the allegations, while a prosecuting lawyer asked for the case to be adjourned for five weeks to allow the "full file" to be lodged.

Releasing Browne, District Judge Bernie Kelly ordered him to come back to court on September 21.
