Man charged over drugs as police probe sudden death

Police investigating the sudden death of an unnamed woman in Bessbrook have charged a 48-year-old man with drug offences.

The woman, who was in her 30s, died on Tuesday.

No details about her identity have been made public by the authorities.

PSNI Detective Sergeant Paul Murphy said: "As a direct result of our enquiries, we have arrested a man on suspicion of possession of class B drugs and being concerned in the supply of class A drugs."

The officer also revealed that a total of £2,000 in cash was seized, and that a number of items were also taken away for examination during a related search.

A man has been charged with being concerned in the supply of a class A controlled drug and possession of a class B controlled drug.

He is expected to appear before Newry Magistrates' Court on March 22.
