Man charged over Northern Ireland shopping centre robbery attempt
A man has been charged over an attempted robbery at a Northern Ireland shopping centre.
Police in Newry, investigating the incident at Buttercrane Quay on Sunday charged the 22-year-old with a number of offences including attempted robbery, possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence and assault on police.
He is due to appear at Newry Magistrates' Court on Monday May 15.
As is normal procedure all charges are reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
