Man charged with arson over Belfast city centre shop incident

A 36-year-old man has been charged with arson with intent to endanger life and possession of Class A drugs in connection with an incident at a shop in Belfast.

The charges are in relation to an incident at a shop in Donegall Street area on Friday February 23.

At the time of the incident police received a report of a man entering a premises, pouring a flammable substance, and then setting it alight.

The man is due to appear at Laganside Courts in Belfast on Tuesday.
