Man charged with attempted murder over Larne gun attack

A man has been charged with attempted murder in relation to an gun attack police said was part of a loyalist feud in Larne.

The 30-year-old man has also been charged with hijacking in relation to the gun attack on a home in the Brustin Brae area.

Three children, aged 10, seven and three and their mother escaped injury after shots were fired at a bedroom window. A car was also destroyed. No one was injured.

He also faces charges of attempted burglary, possession of an offensive weapon and criminal damage in connection with incidents in Antrim and Larne in August.

He will appear in Ballymena Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.

A 30-year-old woman has also been charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice linked to the attack on Monday. She is set for court in October.

Police said the incident on Monday was part of an ongoing loyalist feud in Larne. During searches they uncovered two guns in the Millbrook area on Tuesday.
