Man charged with attempted murder over stabbing of two women in Belfast

A man has been charged with attempted murder after two women were stabbed at a house in west Belfast.

The women, one in her 30s and another aged in her 50s, were attacked in the early hours of Monday in Cloona Manor.

They were taken to hospital but their injuries were not life-threatening and they were released yesterday.

Police have charged a 35-year-old man with aggravated burglary and two counts of attempted murder.

He is expected to appear before Craigavon Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

As is usual procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.

A 28-year-old woman remains in police custody.
