Man charged with attempted robbery of Belfast hotel

A man has been charged with attempted robbery of a Belfast hotel.

The incident took place in the University Street area around 3.45am, on Sunday, November 18.

The man, who was armed with a hammer, made off from the scene empty-handed toward the Ormeau Road. No staff were injured in the incident.

The 43-year-old is to appear in court on Wednesday, November 21. As is normal procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
