Man charged with drugs offences after 50 cannabis plants found in Co Antrim

A 26-year-old man has been charged with various drugs offences following the discovery of 50 cannabis plants in Co Antrim.

The drugs were found following a drug seizure at a house in Townhead Street, Ballymoney on Tuesday.

Police searched the property after receiving intelligence provided by the local community.

Around 50 cannabis plants, and a further quantity of cannabis were seized along with various other drug-related paraphernalia.

On Wednesday police charged the man with being concerned in supply of class B controlled drug, cultivating cannabis, possession of a class B controlled drug and criminal damage. 

He is expected to appear before Coleraine Magistrates Court on Monday September 3.
