Man charged with exposing himself to children in Antrim playpark
A 25-year-old man has been charged after approaching children and allegedly asking them to perform a lewd act at a playground in Antrim.
Detectives from the PSNI’s Public Protection Branch have charged a the man with exposure and causing or inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity. The man is due to appear at Ballymena Magistrates Court on Monday.
The incident allegedly happened in the Bush Park area on Saturday evening.
Police receive a report of a man described as being around 5'8'' tall with short dark hair and wearing black tracksuit bottoms and a black jumper approaching children at around 7.15pm and asking them to perform a lewd act.
Detective Inspector Steven McColm said: "There was no physical contact between the man and the children. The girl and boy, both aged 8, ran back to the adult who was with them at the time.
“The man was seen walking away from the area in the direction of the Round Tower. He may also have been carrying a dark backpack.
As is normal procedure all charges are reviewed by the PPS
