Police have charged a man with grievous bodily harm following an attack in Belfast city centre bar in which a man had part of his ear bitten off.

Police said the attack happened on the dance floor of the establishment off Amelia Street just before midnight on Sunday.

The 30-year-old is to appear in court on September 19.

As is usual procedure the charge will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
