Man charged with IRA membership in Newry serious crime probe

A man is set to appear in court charged with IRA membership.

The 39-year-old was arrested on Monday in Newry by police investigating serious crime.

He is also charged with blackmail and common assault.

Another 27-year-old was also set to appear in court charged with common assault and blackmail.

Both are set to appear in Strabane Magistrates'. As is usual procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
