A Belfast man has appeared in court charged with multiple counts of sexual assault over a two-month period.

Gary Wilson (51), from Silverstream Gardens, is accused of intentional sexual touching of a female on six occasions between April 1 and May 29, 2019. There are also charges of two lesser assaults against the same person.

A police officer told Dungannon Magistrates Court all charges could be connected to the defendant.

Wilson spoke only to confirm his identity and to say that he understood the charges.

No details of the alleged offences were disclosed. A lawyer for the Public Prosecution Service said the case will be moving to Crown Court for trial.

District Judge John Meehan set bail at £400 and ordered Wilson to reside at his Belfast address and no other without prior permission from the police.

Wilson is prohibited from contacting the complainant and two other people, and must not enter their home town.

The case will return to court in September.
