Man charged with murder after woman dies on boating holiday

A man has been charged with the murder of a mother who died on a boating holiday in Northern Ireland.

Lu Na McKinney, 35 and from Co Donegal in the Irish Republic, was in a hired cruiser in Co Fermanagh with her husband and their two young children in April when she died.

The PSNI said on Monday that detectives investigating the death have charged a 41-year-old man with murder.

He will appear before Omagh Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

The boat the family was on was moored at Devenish Island, a popular visitor attraction near Enniskillen, Co Fermanagh, when Mrs McKinney died.

Emergency services found her body in the water but intensive attempts to resuscitate her failed.
