Man charged with possessing documents likely to be useful to terrorists

A man charged with having documents or records likely to be useful to terrorists is to appear in court on Monday.

The 29-year-old was arrested in Lurgan on Wednesday after police stopped and searched a van in the Levin Road area.

Police had been granted extra time to question the suspect on Friday before charging him on Saturday evening.

He will appeared in Lisburn Magistrates' on Monday. As is usual procedure all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service (PPS).

A 48-year-old man arrested on Wednesday has been released pending a report to the PPS.
