Man charged with terrorism offenses to appear in court
A man arrested under the Terrorism Act after police stopped and searched a vehicle in west Belfast has been charged and will appear in court on Saturday.
The 52-year-old has been charged with membership of proscribed organisation,collecting and possessing information likely to be of use to terrorists and possession of a firearm and imitation firearm.
Police said they stopped a vehicle on Thursday on the Stewartstown Road. Following the arrest a premises search was conducted in the Lagmore area of west Belfast with a suspected firearm and documentation seized.
As is usual procedure all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
