Man charged with threat to kill offences

A Co Down man has been remanded in custody accused of assault and threats to kill.

Terence McManus was arrested by police over an alleged incident on Tuesday.

The 33-year-old, of Bridge Street in Downpatrick, appeared before Belfast Magistrates Court to face a total of five charges.

He is accused of assaulting a man and woman, and making threats to three people.

No details were disclosed in court about the incidents involved.

A defence solicitor confirmed no bail application was being made at this stage.

McManus was remanded into custody until tomorrow, when he is expected to seek release.
