Man charged with weapon possession and GBH over Andersonstown Road assault

A man has been charged with attempted robbery, GBH and possession of a weapon following an attack in west Belfast.

The 29-year-old is to appear in court on Wednesday on the charges in connection with an assault on the Andersonstown Road on Monday, March 27.

A 30-year-old was attacked by two men as he got out of a car. He was punched to the face and needed hospital treatment for bruising and a cut to the hand.

A 28-year-old man was also arrested in relation to this incident and has been released on bail pending further inquiries.
