Man 'critical' after being struck by car in Moira

A 34-year-old man is being treated in hospital following a road traffic collision on the Glenavy Road in Moira.

The male was struck by a car close to the railway station at around 2.40am on Saturday.

At this time his injuries are believed to be extremely serious and he is understood to be in critical condition.

The road was closed to traffic for the morning.

Inspector Paul McCarron has asked that anyone who witnessed the collision, or who was in the area at the time and who can assist the investigation, call 101 and speak to police.

In September a woman was killed when she was hit by a car in Moira's Main Street.
