Man denies involvement in murder of Marcell Seeley

By Rebecca Black

A 24-year-old Co Armagh man has "strenuously denied" involvement in the murder of Marcell Seeley.

Mark Daniel Ward, of Drumellan Gardens, Craigavon, appeared before Lisburn Magistrate's Court yesterday.

He was charged on Sunday evening with the murder of Mr Seeley on an unknown date between October 9 and October 13.

Yesterday Ward spoke only to confirm he understood the charges against him.

His solicitor told the court that the murder charge against his client would be "strenuously denied".

He said he was not applying for bail at that stage.

An application for bail will instead be made on Friday.

It is understood Mr Seeley died between October 9-13.

The 34-year-old was found dead by a relative in his flat at Finwell Park in the Taghnaven area of Lurgan last Tuesday.
