Man dies after car hits bridge in Tyrone

A man has died in a two car crash in Tyrone.

The man, aged in his 20s, died after the silver Peugeot he was travelling in struck a bridge on the Longland Road in Donemana, County Tyrone, around 7.20am on Friday morning.

Another man who was travelling in the car was also injured in the crash.

He was taken to hospital but his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

The occupants of a blue Transit van also travelling on the road at the time were not injured.

Inspector Ray Wilson said: “I am appealing for witnesses or anyone who was travelling on the Longland Road this morning to get in touch with police. Please call 101 quoting reference 204 22/07/16.”

The Longland Road has now reopened.
