Man dies after incident at house

Police have launched a murder investigation after the death of a man in Co Antrim.

It is understood the man died after a violent incident at a house in the Stroanshesk Park area of Ballycastle earlier on Sunday.

The victim has been named locally as Kevin O'Neill, who was in his early 20s.

One man has been arrested.

Ballycastle councillor Cara McShane said her thoughts were with the man's family.

"I was shocked to hear about the death of the young man earlier today," said the Sinn Fein representative.

"I would like to offer my sincere condolences to his family, who I know well.

"I would appeal to anyone with information on this incident to bring it immediately to the PSNI."

The murder is the second sudden death to hit the town in a number of days after a man was killed in a flat fire in the Diamond area on Friday afternoon.

Ms McShane added: "This is the second tragedy to face the town in days with the death of a man in a house fire on Friday and our thoughts and prayers are with the families of these two men."
