Man dies following Glenarm collision

A 21-year-old man has died following a crash in north Antrim.

The man, who was from the Ballymena area, was the driver of a car which crashed on the Straidkilly Road near Glenarm yesterday afternoon.

A passenger was taken to hospital. The extent of his injuries were not known last night.

The one-vehicle collision involving a white Peugeot 405 took place at around 3.30pm.

The injured person was taken to Antrim Area Hospital.

The road was closed at the junctions of Ballyvaddy Road and Tully Road with diversions in place.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "A man, aged 21, has died in the road traffic collision on the Straidkilly Road, Glenarm.

"He was the driver of the car involved and came from the Ballymena area."

The statement continued: "The passenger is in hospital. The extent of his injuries are not yet known."
