A man has died following an incident at Warrenpoint Harbour on Thursday afternoon.
Police are currently in attendance at the scene and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) have been made aware of the incident.
A HSE spokesperson confirmed that they would be making enquiries following the sudden death.
The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) responded to a 999 call around 4:32pm after a report of an incident in the area.
One emergency crew was dispatched to the scene.
A NIAS spokesperson confirm that following initial assessment and treatment to the man at the scene, "no one was transferred to hospital".
Warrenpoint Port chief executive Clare Guinness said they were co-operating with police and the HSE.
"The PSNI and Health and Safety Executive were immediately informed of the incident and we are co-operating with them and all relevant authorities to enable a full investigation to take place," she said.
Mrs Guinness offered her sympathies to the man's family.
Around 70 people are currently employed by the Warrenpoint Harbour Authority at Northern Ireland's second largest port.
