By Lesley Houston

A man has died in Co Armagh following a one vehicle accident.

The man, thought to be in his 60s, had been travelling along the Tannyoky Road when it is understood it left the road and crashed in a field.

Other motorists were diverted from the area between the Clare Road and the Blacker Road following the accident which happened a short time before 7pm on Wednesday November 4.

The incident has been described as yet another tragedy on Northern Ireland’s roads.

Local assembly member, Danny Kennedy offered his sympathies to the victim’s family.

The former regional development minister said: "I’d wish to express my shock at yet another tragedy, another tragic accident on our roads.

"Obviously it will be a tragedy for the family involved and our thoughts and sympathies are with them at this time," he said.

Councillor for the area Jim Speers, who uses the road regularly described the latest road death as an "absolute tragedy".

The UUP man said: "It’s someone’s loved one; someone’s son or father or husband.

"While it’s a statistic and it adds to numbers there’s also the human side and it’s an absolute tragedy for any family," he said.
