A Co Tyrone man has died following a crash between a lorry and a tractor.

Police have named the victim as Phelim Alexander Brady, 69, from Caledon.

The smash - between a lorry and a tractor and trailer - happened in the Killybracken Road area of Dungannon shortly after 10.20am on Wednesday morning.

A 43-year-old man, believed to have been driving the tractor, was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment for his injuries. His condition is described as serious but stable.

A 50-year-old man, believed to be the driver of the lorry, was subsequently arrested and questioned.

The M1 between Dungannon and Ballygawley remains closed and motorists are advised to seek alternative main routes for their journey.

Police have appealed for any witnesses to contact them.
