Man faces court over theft of security tags
One of the most prolific offenders in Northern Ireland has appeared in court again following his arrest by police officers in Londonderry at the weekend.
Eamon Edward John Lynch (39) from Glentrain in Letterkenny has 465 previous criminal convictions.
The Co Donegal man is charged with stealing and destroying electronic security tags in October 31, 2010. He had been ordered to wear them while on bail for other criminal charges.
A police officer told District Judge Barney McElholm that she believed she could connect the defendant to the charges. She said there was also a bench warrant which had been issued by the crown court last year for his arrest.
There was no bail application and Lynch was remanded in custody to appear before the same court again on November 8.
