Man feared dead in Northern Ireland seaside shooting

One man was feared dead today after a shooting incident in a Co Down seaside town.

A second person was also rushed to hospital after being hit by gunfire in the Clandeboye Road area of Bangor.

Police confirmed they were investigating the incident. A spokesman said no members of the security forces was involved.

It is understood the shooting happened at a house in Hazelbrook Avenue, off the main road.

Neighbours confirmed one man was killed. Several other people were injured. Relatives of some of the victims later arrived at the scene.

A neighbour said: "It was very sad and distressing to watch."
