Man fined for walking around Limavady town with his trousers down
A man has been fined £250 after walking round Limavady town centre with trousers round his ankles.
John Kenneth McNicholl (28), of Benevenagh Drive, Limavady, was fined for disorderly behaviour following the incident at Grange Park on October 16 this year.
Coleraine Magistrates' Court heard yesterday that police suspected he was under the influence of drink or drugs. McNicholl was in breach of a night time curfew imposed by a previous court.
Defence barrister Ben Thompson said: "If ever there was an offence that captures the dysfunctionality of someone's life, it is this." He added that his client is now trying to detox.
Fining McNicholl £250 on the disorderly behaviour charge, District Judge Peter King said: "I'm not going to impose a custodial sentence on somebody walking round Limavady with their trousers round their ankles. Quite frankly, you need help."
