Police are investigating the circumstances around the death of a man in Newry on Saturday.

Rimantis Tamosiunas, 56, was found dead in a house on Catherine Street in the city at around 8pm yesterday.

A post mortem examination is due to be carried out.

The senior investigating officer Detective Inspector Jill Duffie said: “We are keen to trace the movements of the deceased in the hours leading up to his death.

"We would like to hear from anyone who knows him or who may have seen him at any time on Saturday, January 24."
