Man found unconscious at construction site

Police are appealing for the public's help after a man was found unconscious at a construction site this morning.

The man was spotted at the entrance to a construction site close to the Shore Road in Greenisland by a passing motorist at around 5.20am.

Police were called and the man was immediately transferred to hospital by ambulance.

The man has not yet regained consciousness and it is not clear how he came to be in the area.

Local Sergeant Spence said: “At this stage it is not clear how he came to be in the area where he was found or exactly what has happened to him.

The last confirmed sighting of this male was at around midnight in Carrickfergus and we are trying to establish his movements between that time and when he was found at 5.20am.

"We are keen to hear from anyone who saw a male walking on the Shore Road during the early hours of this morning or anyone who believes they have information that could help us. Police can be contacted by calling 101.”
