Man held after a series of drug raids is released

By Staff Reporter

A 23-year-old man arrested after police in Limavady carried out a series of drugs raids in the town has now been released.

A man was arrested on Sperrin Road on suspicion of possessing and dealing Class B drugs, child cruelty and possession of ammunition under suspicious circumstances.

He has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.

During another search of a property in the Rathbrady Way area of the town 300 unidentified tablets were seized. These have been taken away for forensic examination.

Area Commander Chief Inspector Alan Hutton said: "Again we would stress to everyone who pursues this lifestyle to think very carefully about what they are doing.

"The advice is simple. Do not take illegal drugs and do not take prescription drugs that have not been prescribed to you.

"We would ask members of the public for their continued support and co-operation in tackling drugs. Drug dealing is a concern for all in the community and tackling the supply, distribution and sale of illegal drugs is a policing priority."
