By Amanda Poole

A man has been arrested following the suspicious death of a mother of three in a quiet neighbourhood in Portadown.

The body of the 40-year-old woman, named locally as Suzanne Harper, was discovered at a house in the Manor area of the County Armagh town at around midday yesterday.

An ambulance arrived at the woman’s home in a quiet cul-de-sac development and the area was sealed off while PSNI detectives and forensic officers conducted an investigation.

A post mortem examination will now be carried out to find the exact cause of the woman’s death.

A neighbour who did not want to be identified said: “I really can’t believe this has happened. We are deeply shocked by this.

“It is such a tragedy that a young mother of three children has lost her life in these circumstances.

“She was a truly lovely girl. Just a normal family woman who went about her business and came to and from work. My heart goes out to her family circle and in particular to her young daughter.”

Mayor of Craigavon, Alderman Stephen Moutray said: “In these tragic circumstances my thought and prayers are with her family at this time.”

Portadown councillor Gladys McCullough, a neighbour of the family expressed sadness at the death. “This is a tragedy for everyone concerned,” she said.
