Man held as teen found

A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of child abduction last night, after a missing teenage girl was discovered safe and well.

A vigilant member of the public spotted the man with the 14-year-old girl in Portadown last night and reported it to the police.

The girl, from Dungannon, Co Tyrone had been last seen at her home in the Cedar Ridge area shortly before midnight on Wednesday.

Police issued an appeal for information, saying they were concerned for the teenager’s safety.

Earlier detectives said the girl had been in the company of a 21-year-old man and could have been on either side of the Irish border.
