Man held on suspicion of attempted murder in Co Down

A 33-year-old man has been arrested over attempted murder and robbery following an assault in Co Down.

He was held after a 35-year-old man was attacked in Drumaness on Sunday night.

The victim was found in the Green area at around 11.55pm.

He was taken to hospital for injuries not thought to be life-threatening.

Police have said it's believed his car was also taken from him.

A 33-year-old man was arrested a short time later, while a 26-year-old woman was held on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Police have appealed for information.
