A man has been arrested after a hijacking in Coalisland, Co Tyrone.

It comes after a driver was flagged down in The Vale area on Sunday morning at around 6.30am by a man asking for a lift.

The man said he had a knife before ordering the driver out of the car.

The driver was left uninjured but shaken by the incident.

Police arrested a 24-year-old man and he remains in custody on Monday morning.
