Man hospitalized after being attacked by masked men armed with nail studded bats

Police are investigating after a man was attacked by masked men armed with nail studded bats.

They responded to a reported of aggravated burglary at a flat in Upper Waterloo Road, Larne, on Monday.

It was reported that a number of masked men forced their way into the flat at around 10pm on Monday evening and attacked the male occupant with bats studded with nails.

The occupant sustained a head injury and a number of puncture wounds on his body and required hospital treatment following the incident.

Enquiries are ongoing and detectives would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information to contact them in Ballymena on 101 quoting reference number 1549 14/05/18.
