A man is to appear in court on Monday charged with offences in relation to an attempted bomb attack on a police officer.

A bomb was left under the officer's car in the Glenrandel area in Eglinton in June last year.

Police described it as a "clear attempt" to kill police.

The man, 35, is also accused of possessing explosives with intent to endanger life.

He is due to appear at Londonderry Magistrates' Court. As is usual, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
