Man in stable condition after assault in south Belfast

A man is in stable condition in hospital after two brothers were attacked in south Belfast on Saturday evening.

The men, both aged in their 20s, were assaulted on the Donegall Road at around 9.30pm while a band parade was taking place in the area.

One of the men suffered a serious head injury while the other man sustained injuries to his face.

The man in a stable condition was previously critically ill in hospital.

Police are not treating it as a sectarian incident and ask anyone with any information to contact them on 101.
