Man injured after being pulled from his car during Carrickfergus hi-jack

A man has suffered cuts and bruises after he was pulled from his car during a hi-jacking in Carrickfergus.

At around 10pm on Saturday the driver parked his car in a layby in the Woodburn Road area to answer a call.

As he did so he was pulled from his black Renault Clio car by one attacker.

The car was then driven off and found burnt out in the Northland Court area of the town around 20 minutes later.

The victim was taken to Antrim Hospital and treated for cuts and bruising.

His attacker is said to be in his late 20s or early 30s, around six feet tall with short hair. He was wearing black Adidas track suit bottoms, a light coloured t-shirt and a light coloured scarf.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
