By Amanda Poole

A man required treatment after he was punched in the face during an aggravated burglary in south Belfast at the weekend.

At around 1.15am on Sunday, two men, one armed with a knife, pushed their way into a house in Donnybrook Street and stole a television, a laptop, an X-box console and two handbags.

There were four men and a woman — all aged in their 20s — in the house at the time.

One of the young men was punched in the face and required hospital treatment for facial injuries.

One of the burglars is described as being aged around 30, around 5ft 11ins and of large build. He was wearing a grey hooded top and jeans. The other man is described as being in his early 30s, of slim build, with short fair spiky hair. He was wearing a brown and white sports jacket.

It is believed they may have made off in a van from the scene.

SDLP councillor Bernie Kelly, said: “I urge anyone with information to contact the police.”

Musgrave Street CID have asked anyone with information to contact them on 0845 600 800.
