A man was arrested after a report of a burglary in Belfast.

It happened in the Sherbrook Terrace area shortly before 10am yesterday.

Police were contacted after reports of suspicious activity at the address and the 27-year-old male was restrained before being arrested when police arrived.

Chief Inspector Neil Beck said: "We had excellent cooperation from those who restrained him until the swift arrival of police when he was arrested on suspicion of burglary.

"Following a search, suspected Class A drugs were also found on his person and he is currently in custody helping police with their enquiries.

"We are grateful to members of the public who continue to provide information and assist us as we work to keep people safe.
