Man is held over crossbow attack

A man has been shot with a crossbow in Belfast, police have said.

Another man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after the attack. The 29-year-old victim was sitting in a parked car in Belgravia Avenue in the south of the city when he was shot at around 5.20pm on Wednesday.

He was struck in the arm and taken to hospital for treatment to an injury that is not life-threatening. A 29-year-old woman who was also in the car at the time escaped unhurt.

The arrested man, aged 28, has been detained for questioning about a number of offences, including attempted murder.
